On its Facebook page, Cahuilla Casino announced it would close starting at 10 p.m. The temporary closure follows an announcement by Pala’s website on Monday that though the resort was open, it was closing some of its facilities, including its Poolside Cafe & Bar Choices, The Buffet restaurant Sushi Sake its High Limits Lounge and Pala Spa.
“We are thankful for the dedicated medical professionals who are working tirelessly to contain this pandemic and send our sympathies to all that are directly affected by this tragedy.” “After careful consideration, the Pala Band of Mission Indians felt that the decision to temporarily close Pala Casino is absolutely necessary as we work to protect our guests and team members and further prevent the spread of the coronavirus,” Pala Band of Mission Indians Chairman Robert Smith said in a statement.
The release did not specify when the resort might reopen, but noted that the Pala “will continue to monitor this evolving situation and reopen to the public when it is safe to do so. The tribe announced the decision in a news release.
